[It takes a few minutes for Jason to ride as fast as he can over on his bike and then another minute to knock at her door. To be frank, he looks terrible.]
[It's easy enough to swap out Halloween for The Princess Bride because she'd mostly just wanted to have something on for background noise- and she figured that Jason might appreciate the same thing.
And sure, he looks pretty rough when she opens the door, but lack of sleep will do that to a person.]
You look like you haven't been sleeping. I wish there was something I could do to help.
Well, I was going to just put on Halloween for some background noise because I've seen it roughly a million times at this point, but I'll give you a choice- Titanic or the Princess Bride?
[In the meantime, she busies herself with microwaving a couple pieces of leftover pizza.]
I should warn you that Titanic's pretty long, though.
[Jason accepts the plate and takes a deep breath as weariness and fatigue settle heavy on his shoulders. He climbs onto the couch and gets comfy. His body tries to drag him down into sleep, but he blinks rapidly to try and stay awake.]
[While he gets settled, Chrissy makes a beeline for her bedroom. A couple of minutes later, she returns with the comforter from her bed and starts the movie on her way to the couch. She settles in beside Jason and takes the plate back so she can spread out the comforter.]
You know... you don't have to wait for me to invite you over every time.
[Jason is half in a doze when she comes back and he sits up when she settles in beside her. He's got to get this sleeping thing under control if he wants to be any use to anyone.
But not tonight. Not while he's got his girlfriend right here next to him.]
[She'd prefer it, actually, but he had tried to warn her that he gets in trouble a lot. She'd kind of been assuming that he was just saying that to scare her off, though. Once the blanket is settled, scoots in a little closer and tucks herself against his side.]
I know you have Bruce, but you're welcome here too. You don't need an excuse to come over.
That would be nice. I haven't been camping in a long time.
[She's not really counting the mission because they'd had cabins and it had all felt very summer camp-y, which just made her miss being at home before things had gone to hell. And it goes without saying that she's automatically on board for any opportunity to spend more time with him.]
We could do it before the mission starts.
[He'd really just needed someone to listen, and that's easy enough to do. Chrissy smiles and leans up to kiss him as the beginning of My Heart Will Go On plays over grainy beige footage of people milling about on and around an ocean liner.]
[Jason really likes kissing, even if it opens him up to being vulnerable. He curls one hand up her back to hold her in a gentle embrace. The background music only aids in the moment.]
[The choice between kissing her boyfriend and paying attention to a movie she was only ever going to be half-watching is an easy one. Chrissy hums and presses in closer as they kiss.]
[Jason keeps it all pretty chaste. There’s no tugging of clothes or any rushing of movements. However, he doesn’t pull back in the slightest as he continues to kiss her. Every press of her lips warms him from the inside out.]
[She's content to keep things chaste and sweet for the moment, despite how much she might have wanted to push for more if circumstances were different. He's been sleep-deprived for the last little while, and she doesn't want to push him into something he might not be ready for. Sliding a hand up to run her fingers through his hair is about as far as she's willing to go right now.]
[The last time Jason had sex, the girl ended up hitting him and causing him to storm out, so it's good he's able to just sit and enjoy Chrissy's lips on his. Her fingers run through his hair and he grins wider. He pulls back just enough to ask,]
[At her reply, Jason's expression lights up and then softens. He leans in to kiss her again, more firmly than before. It's really nice to have someone that seems to be okay with where he is in life.]
[Chrissy smiles and leans into the kiss. She's torn between wanting to know more and just being horrified that someone would ever treat him that way. In the end, she decides she'd rather focus on this moment than worry about someone so obviously not worth his time or energy.]

Getting killed does that.

[Because as much as the lost time sucks, she imagines that knowing everything is just so much worse.]
Do you want some pizza?

Pizza sounds good. What's on for our movie?

[It answers no questions but Jason is too tired to care.]

[It was an amusing realization at the time. The microwave beeps conveniently, and Chrissy goes to retrieve the plate so she can hand it off to Jason.]
Go ahead and make yourself comfortable and I'll start the movie.

Do I have to get beat up before I show up?

[Jason leans in to kiss Chrissy’s temple as the movie starts.]
Was the first place I felt heard by somebody.

[Chrissy smiles. He pulls away first, and she takes the opportunity to catch her breath.]
But since we're sharing, I'm fine with taking things as slowly as you need to.

Last girl was an assassin using me for information, so thanks. I think I'll get there, just not right now.
[Not the most romantic talk, but it at least she knows where he stands.]

[Somehow, it's not even the weirdest thing she's heard lately.]
It's okay if you're not there right now. You're worth waiting for.
