( the boy is hurt for reasons damian couldn't place just yet, but he's not turning tail to leave regardless. a few more minutes maybe, before he decides this is truly hopeless. )

Are you trying to blame someone who was ten at the time for bashing in their skull? If I'd tried to hurt you, I'd see reason behind that. But I hadn't been. You escalated. You hurt me. And now you are trying to blame me for it. How old are you?

[Jason doesn't answer any of it. He's pocketed his hands and continues to walk away in silence while he tries to reign in his anger. Just ignore it. Just fucking ignore it and maybe this will all go away.]

( he supposes that expecting better from jason was probably his first mistake. there's a dramatic sigh, before damian does start trying to catch up with him once more. )

I suppose I should have known better than to expect an apology, even after I had gone after Father in your defense. It isn't as if you are known for taking responsibility over your own actions.

[Jason shuts his eyes for a moment or two as he grits his teeth. He wants to snarl back that at least Damian has a father, but he swallows it down for now. Just keep walking, keep walking.

He recognizes the library getting close and aims for that. Damian can't talk in a library, right?]

( continuing to chase after him will get damian nowhere. it was fun when it was a game. annoying when todd was turning all the blame onto him, and irritating when he realized this is just todd's self-pitying party.

but it isn't working, so damian - stops in place for a few moments. waits to see if jason will notice. and when he assumes he hadn't, turns to walk away. )

[Jason is determined to keep walking. He pulls open the library door and disappears through it without so much as looking back for Damian. If he's finally shaken the kid, then maybe Jason can find a nook in the library to sleep, keep warm, and if there's a kitchen somewhere, he can keep warming soup for Bruce.]
