[In about 20 minutes, there is a knock at her door!]

[She's quick to answer, swinging the door open with a smile and standing out of the way so he can come in.]

Hi.

[The apartment itself is cluttered but neat. There's a quilt draped over the back of the couch and what some might call an absurd number of throw pillows decorating the couch and chairs. A half-empty mug of tea and a paperback copy of Carrie sit abandoned on the little end table between the couch and the chair. There aren't any photos on display because she doesn't have any of the people she'd want to see.

The kitchen counter is bare aside from a tupperware container of cookies and the bottle of champagne she'd found inside a gift box the other day.]

[Jason is there with a pizza balanced on one hand. With a grin, he heads in when she opens the door for him and settles the box on the kitchen counter before popping the lid.]

Pepperoni with stuffed crust pizza delivery!

[He turns with a grin, clearly in a much better mood than the last time they met.]

And in thirty minutes or less!

[Not that it matters. There's no money here, and really, it's just an attempt to lighten the mood and maybe make him laugh.

Either way, she kicks the door closed and follows him over to the counter.]

[Jason pulls out a slice and the cheese pull is legendary.]

[Chrissy, meanwhile, is content to wait until he's out of the way to help herself to a slice.]

[Jason steps back so he can take a bite from his pizza.]

Did you know you can walk out with a full pizza from the Kwik Mart? Got lucky with the selection today.

Oh. I don't really eat that much at a time, so I've never tried taking more than a couple slices.

[Taking a whole one might save some time and effort, but she might also get tired of pizza before she manages to finish it.]

[Maybe it was the constant training back home or perhaps the whole being 'a growing boy' bullshit, but Jason has quite an appetite, though primarily for fast food.]

See, it feels like stealing, you get that adrenaline rush, but you're allowed to walk out with anything. Why not a whole pizza?

It's weird- it does feel like stealing!

[She's been here for nearly a year, and it still feels a little wrong to just take things and walk out of places. He's not wrong, though. It is kind of fun.]

Well... for one, I can't eat a whole pizza in one sitting!

[Jason enjoys the pinch of adrenaline he experiences when he grabs something out of the mart. Maybe it's not the same as stealing, but it sure feels like it.]

Not with that attitude.

The place I came here from didn't do money either.

[It did have ghosts powering everything, though, at least in the beginning. The way the shops are set up feels about the same as it did there. Unfortunately, that means that most of the excitement of just taking things has worn off... but it's better than nothing.]

I could probably manage a small one.

Your home doesn't have money? [Jason frowns as he takes a big ol' bite of cheesy goodness.]

I um... didn't come here from home.

[She takes another bite and spends entirely too long chewing in an attempt to hide the fact that she's stalling. Mostly, she's trying to decide how to explain without sounding like she's completely out of her mind.]

I died, and then I woke up somewhere else. There wasn't any money, but we had to wait in line for things anyway.

[Jason furrows his eyebrows.] You died?

I know how crazy that sounds.

[It probably doesn't help that she has no memory of it actually happening, either.]

[Jason shrugs, but he can't help but think of Donna, how she died trying to help others. He imagines Chrissy would do something similar.]

Are you okay now? I mean. Mentally.

[Cause Jason got dropped off a building and he's never been the same.]

[She's not expecting an answer because he seems like the type of person to keep things pretty close to his chest. Still, she's curious.]

I don't know. I heard about it happening after the fact, in that other place... but I don't actually remember it happening.

[She'd been alone and afraid that first time, and the only one she'd ended up helping at all was Vecna.]

Well, there's these things called Lazarus Pits back home. You drop a dead person in one and they come right back.

[Jason shakes his head, pretty sure he wouldn't want to be brought back as some weird crazed zombie. Not that he really understands what the Lazarus Pit does.]

Guess that's a good thing. Who wants to remember dying?

That sounds... like Night of the Living Dead level crazy. I hope they're not just floating around where everyone has access to them.

[Because that kind of sounds like a catastrophe waiting to happen. She shrugs at the question.]

All I remember is being afraid and being chased by something... and then waking up somewhere else. I'm glad I don't remember anything else.

I think Bruce said they're all sealed except for two. One's with this weird guy out in the alps and the other one is unknown.

['Weird guy' being R'as al Ghul and 'the alps' being a random mountainous region that Jason can't remember off the cuff.]

That sucks. [Jason genuinely wants to help Chrissy feel better and considers relating his own near-death experience.] Trust me, you probably don't want to remember all the details.
