[A smile starts to pique Jason’s lips.]

But I want you and me to decorate, not some service.

Pretty sure the only service here are the bots.

I kinda just wanted to decorate with you. I can do something else at her place.

[Probably ask her out, too. But that’s something separate.]

( he’s still getting the hang of the whole parenting-while-not-parenting thing, so. seemed like giving a choice to have others over was something to give. either way, the elevator brings them up and he pulls open the gated door for them, waiting for jason to step out first. )

[Jason steps through to move into the kitchen. He pulls out two beers from the back— why and where is a teenager getting beer, nobody knows— and pops the tops. He holds one out to Bruce.

Is this everything you imagined in parenting a rogue element, Bruce?] Good. I never got to do that before.

( a raise of a brow at the beers being shown, he gently takes the one in hand while eyeing jason with the other. hm. )

Pretty sure you're not old enough to legally drink that.

( he needs to be a parent, ok. )

[Jason takes a swig of his beer and shrugs.]

You're not supposed to be able to walk out with whatever you want without paying either.

Can't say I've done much decorating myself.

Let me guess, you had a company come in to decorate the main floor. [Eye roll of the century before Jason polishes off his beer. Didn't he just open that? He sure did.]

The holidays never felt the same after my parents died.

( he looks down as he says that, not often talking about them with... anyone, really. )

[Oh. Jason looks down as well. Taking a moment before nodding.]

Well, we can change that. Make it something we do.

( at that, he gives a faint smile, looking up to jason there. )

[Jason smiles ever so slightly.]

Trust me. I know the holidays suck. We can make it different.

Don't make it silver and black like it always is. [Well, how it is back in Jason's Gotham.] We could bring some color to it.

( at that, he raises a brow, gently amused. )

The usual? Red? Green? Gold? How many am I allowed to pick?

( he squints in thought for a moment at all that... colour. )

Am I allowed to have something in black?

[Jason grins over at Bruce.] Sure. Whatever you want. I mean, it's not my Christmas, it's our Christmas.

[batsymbol]

( well. fair enough. smile faint, he nods then licks over his lips. )

I'm sure we'll figure it out the closer it gets.
