[Jasom digs in his closet for the revolver and tucks it into
his back waistban before pulling on a large black sweatshirt to cover it. His backpack of his usual supplies is still back at the tower, so he only has a bag of canned soup. He leaves the bedroom and them through his front door as if Damian isn’t even there.]

( damian lets jason pack.

doesn't go into his room. doesn't get up until the bedroom door opens and jason's letting himself out of the room to - is he running away? what a coward.

legs swing off the side of the couch so damian can get himself up to his feet, trailing after him. )

Where are you going?

[Jason slams the door between them and heads down the hall to the stairs. Maybe staying in the apartments was a mistake after all. He doesn’t have supplies for camping, so he’s not sure where to go from here but he has to keep moving.]

( cute. a door.

it does stop him for a moment, but only because it isn't as if damian can simply walk through a door. he reaches for the door handle, swinging it open and leaving it that way when he continues to follow after todd down the hallway. )

[When Jason hears footsteps behind him, he starts taking the stairs down in jumps. One landinf, then another, until he reaches the door leading out of the building. He slams it as well and then finds a piece of wood to wedge under the handle.]

Fucker. [He mutters to himself as he sets off into the cold.]

( as if a door can stop him for all that long regardless of how well it's fortified.

damian doesn't immediately shove at the door. no, he hears todd fussing with it, and opts to allow him to fuss as much as he desires. waits, until he's done messing with the door to walk himself over to the closest window and - takes a knife out of his utility belt, slamming the hilt into the window until it cracks enough he can shove his elbow on through, then pulls the rest of himself along through it, too.

good luck throwing him off the trail, he's determined now. )

[Jason hears the glass break and turns just enough to see Damian squeezing through the window. Fuck. What the fuck is this kid's problem! Jason looks for the trolley, hopes it could be approaching the stop for the apartments and finds himself just in luck. The trolley is about to depart and so Jason breaks out into a run, leaping onto the trolley, and leaning in close before he can push the door open. He slips inside and sets his backpack down, ready to throw another can of soup if needed.]

( now he's just making this entertaining. jason needs to make a run for it with the trolley, but damian doesn't.

well. not entirely. todd leaps onto it, and damian runs quickly enough, but he's also reaching for his belt to grab hold of his grapple gun, firing it off with the hook aimed for one of the rails far enough away from todd he'd have plenty warning before he could manage to cut the line, but damian's also very quickly pulling the line taut and reeling the line in so it sends him flying toward the trolley before there's much time to do anything about it. )

[Jason is just about to sit down when he hears the clunk and there's no time to throw a can of soup. So he turns it on one of the windows, trying to pull himself through before Damian can get on board. He doesn't understand why Damian is pursuing him so relentlessly, but Jason is fucking tired of it.]

( unfortunately it's just become a game to him now. meaning, regardless of what todd tries to do to get away from him, damian is just going to keep on pursuing him. he hits the side of the trolley, and shoves an ankle through one of the bars to keep himself from falling off while pulling the grapple free so he can tuck it back into his belt, because he knows he'll need that later. )

[Jason climbs out a window on the other side, trying to ignore how the shards of glass pulls on his clothes and skin. He tumbles down into the grass, a little out of breath before he picks himself back up and continues on foot on the other side of the rails.]

( which is rude of him, to be quite frank.

it takes damian a moment to notice: he climbs into the car, but the window is broken on the other side and outside of there? todd. he rolls his eyes, gives an irritated click of his tongue, then - pulls himself out that window and rolls to the ground outside the trolley. several yards away from jason still, but close enough that when he pulls himself up to his feet, he can still be heard. )

Are you done yet?!

[Jason keeps walking, stubborn to the last. He doesn't want to be bothered, he doesn't want to engage with the belfry in any way, he just wants to be left alone.]

Fuck off already.

Do you truly think walking away is going to get you the victory you're after?

( he asks, as he - starts following after jason, again. walks a little faster to bridge the distance between them more before he slows down some to trail after him. )

Leave me alone.

[Jason growls out between gritted teeth as he walks.]

I fucking hate you and your whole belfry.

( he's not one to usually resort to beifong's methods of being - a child, but sometimes someone is foolish enough to require it.

todd just happens to be one of them. )

I'm eleven. You hardly know me, and I hardly know anyone who is staying in the belfry. Is your ego so fragile you need to yell at a child about how much you hate them?

Because you beat my face in and blamed me for it, you fucking asshole. [Jason pulls his hood up as the chill starts to get to him.]

I didn't even hit you before you started attacking me. You are the one who reached for weapons where I had not. You are the one who knocked out one of my deciduous teeth. And you are the one who had resorted to bashing a child's face in with a stone.

( who is really the childish one here, todd. but he's still not slowing down any. )

Why are you avoiding me?

You fucking jumped me! I was walking and you jumped me. Just fuck off already. I don't want to want to be bothered by a fucking seven year old.

[Jason picks up his pace, but boy is that gun in his waistband starting to really sound good.]

So? I am not heavy enough to throw you off balance, if you hadn't immediately tried to harm me I would not have tried to pin you. You chose violence, I responded in turn.

( damian may have smaller legs but he keeps up with people much taller than him frequently, and todd - is not quite as tall as he will grow to be one day, he's certain. )

[Jason has had enough. He stops and turns in place and there's a brief moment when he reaches behind him, but stops. This is a kid. A stupid kid, but a kid.]

Leave me alone. I'm asking you to leave me the fuck alone.

Why do you hate me?

( he's not leaving. but he is staying put, given - todd is no longer trying to put more distance between them. )

Because you fucking jumped me and blamed me for it.

[Jason rolls his eyes and is clearly barely holding onto his temper.]

I jumped onto you without intent of causing damage and you immediately set out to hurt me.

( there hadn't been intent to damage. not until jason had gone for him first. he would point out the hypocrisy there: how jason todd has certainly done worse before. byt only one of them is truly angry now, and he hadn't come out here to escalate it. )

Who threw the first punch, Todd? Who turned it into a fight? It wasn't me.

[Jason rolls his eyes again and then resumes walking away from Damian.]
