[People never tended to ask a lot of questions as long as she showed them what they wanted to see, and the only thing they ever seemed to want to see was an idealized version of her. Sometimes, she wonders if that changed after Vecna.]
It's true either way. We could do something. If you want.
[Jason continues to move from apartment to apartment out of paranoia (or justified knowledge that the older bats are watching him), so he doesn't really have his own permanent place.]
[Normally, she might question the immediate jump to her place, but honestly, her place is too quiet most of the time- and she's not really that worried about it. The apartments are all labeled, anyway.]
[She's quick to answer, swinging the door open with a smile and standing out of the way so he can come in.]
Hi.
[The apartment itself is cluttered but neat. There's a quilt draped over the back of the couch and what some might call an absurd number of throw pillows decorating the couch and chairs. A half-empty mug of tea and a paperback copy of Carrie sit abandoned on the little end table between the couch and the chair. There aren't any photos on display because she doesn't have any of the people she'd want to see.
The kitchen counter is bare aside from a tupperware container of cookies and the bottle of champagne she'd found inside a gift box the other day.]
[Jason is there with a pizza balanced on one hand. With a grin, he heads in when she opens the door for him and settles the box on the kitchen counter before popping the lid.]
Pepperoni with stuffed crust pizza delivery!
[He turns with a grin, clearly in a much better mood than the last time they met.]
[Maybe it was the constant training back home or perhaps the whole being 'a growing boy' bullshit, but Jason has quite an appetite, though primarily for fast food.]
See, it feels like stealing, you get that adrenaline rush, but you're allowed to walk out with anything. Why not a whole pizza?
[She's been here for nearly a year, and it still feels a little wrong to just take things and walk out of places. He's not wrong, though. It is kind of fun.]
Well... for one, I can't eat a whole pizza in one sitting!
[Jason enjoys the pinch of adrenaline he experiences when he grabs something out of the mart. Maybe it's not the same as stealing, but it sure feels like it.]
The place I came here from didn't do money either.
[It did have ghosts powering everything, though, at least in the beginning. The way the shops are set up feels about the same as it did there. Unfortunately, that means that most of the excitement of just taking things has worn off... but it's better than nothing.]
[She takes another bite and spends entirely too long chewing in an attempt to hide the fact that she's stalling. Mostly, she's trying to decide how to explain without sounding like she's completely out of her mind.]
I died, and then I woke up somewhere else. There wasn't any money, but we had to wait in line for things anyway.

[As far as she's concerned, it wouldn't be a waste of time at all if there's even a chance of it working, but she's also not going to push it.]

Hey, thanks. Don't have a lot of people in my corner right now.
no subject
[Which probably sounds like bullshit, all things considered, but it is what it is.]
I am, though.

Okay. I believe you.

What kind of pizza?

[Eat an entire day's value of carbs with one bite?]

[Her mother would lose her shit, which just makes it an even better idea.]

[Not that it matters. There's no money here, and really, it's just an attempt to lighten the mood and maybe make him laugh.
Either way, she kicks the door closed and follows him over to the counter.]

[Jason pulls out a slice and the cheese pull is legendary.]

[Chrissy, meanwhile, is content to wait until he's out of the way to help herself to a slice.]
I am wondering where you found this, though.

Did you know you can walk out with a full pizza from the Kwik Mart? Got lucky with the selection today.
no subject
[Taking a whole one might save some time and effort, but she might also get tired of pizza before she manages to finish it.]

Not with that attitude.

I could probably manage a small one.

cw: casual-ish mention of death- and also nonsensical previous game mechanics lol
